Join artist Kim Lane for this introduction to printmaking class. During class time, students will focus on a variety of printmaking techniques that do not require a press. We will investigate linocut, monoprinting, stamping, foam core and reduction processes in a playful and experimental class environment. Learn about layering color, printing on paper and working with reduction techniques to create designs you can repeat at home with minimal equipment required.
No previous experience is needed but dexterity with cutting tools will be required (sharp tools and scissor work).
About the instructor: Kim has worked as a teaching artist in South Africa prior to moving to the states. She has facilitated art programs at ARTWORKS in Randolph, New Jersey and at the Fifty Forward J.L. Turner Center in Nashville.
